Guest host : it's April's week!

 Hello everybody!

Sorry I have been so distant with my blogging recently... I have fallen behind. I'm going to make sure I catch up in the upcoming weeks!!

As I have celebrated my 23rd Birthday this weekend I wanted my theme to be around the word:

BIRTHDAY

Look at the amazing biscuit cake made by Jordan.
I have a massive addiction to pear drops and butter shortbread so she created this masterpiece for my birthday cake!!
Best cake biscuit house ever!
It reminds me of a Hansel and Gretal House.

I suppose we all have a story to share around the word 'Birthday!'
Whether it's your own special day, the birth of your own child, a 18th birthday or perhaps a family animal's birthday.
I wanted to give you all a chance to take a photo, tell a good birthday story or tell us about an upcoming birthday plan.
Is it a birthday you would like to forget or was it a suprise party for a 21st?
Is it a birthday cake in Tesco that you can't take your eye off or decorations and cards that you have kept back for years.

Here are a few prompts to help aid your blogging....
  • A old image of a Birthday.
  • Birthday Cakes.
  • Balloons.
  • Numbers 21st 18th 60th.
  • Invitations.
  • Partybags.
  • Decorations.
  • Old birthday Cards, Messages.
  • Birthday Trips.
  • Surprises.
  • Presents.
  • Childrens Parties.
  • Banners.
I wish you all good luck with your blogging this week and hope to hear and see some wonderful things!

I will keep you updated throughout the week and carry on giving prompts to aid.....

Goodbye for now love April xxx

The April Quotation.

April Week 4 Quotation week

Hi everyone, I have planned this midweek during Kathi’s music nostalgia since on Friday until Monday I will be without my laptop. Because of this I am not really able to comment on the blogs that have been posted, except to say thank goodness Karen loves her music and can make up for me who hardly ever listens to music and never ever sang to anyone, including my children!! Sorry Kathi as it was a great idea for everyone else!!
I will be able to read but not blog or comment on Lucky Snapping until Monday night, so forgive me if you don’t hear from me until then!

This week our quote comes from Dan Zandra. He is the Founder and Creative Director of Compendium, Inc., one of the nation's foremost creators of inspiring books and gifts.
He has written several award-winning books and best-sellers, compiled more than fifty inspiring quotation books, and served as a communications or creativity consultant for dozens of the nation's best-known brands, including several Fortune 500 companies.

Here is a short video about The Believe Book he has written. I can imagine Anne off to buy it now!!

Here is our quote
“ Make rest and refreshment a necessity, not a luxury”

I am hoping that this quote will get you snapping again!
Let’s show each other photos of ourselves, friends, family and even strangers resting and eating or photos of what we do or would like to do for rest and for refreshment!

Looking forward to seeing more photos on your blogs
Take care and Happy Snapping!

Love Lynne xx

Nostalgia Challenge.. Name that Tune!

Hi everyone, a nice uplifting one this week I hope. For me this follows on nicely after Anne's focus on how we deal with vulnerable days... I have just finished my offering and was listening to music as I wrote, some lovely Cat Stevens tracks and that brings me to my challenge for this week..

Tell us about the music which features in your memories..those songs which when they come on TV or the radio we are transported back to a time and place in our lives..

I was at Uni and there were a couple of songs I always think of .. Oliver's Army and Girl's Talk, oh and Crazy Little Thing called Love.

They were 'my songs' and so much so that one day an old friend heard the tracks on TV from one of those oldies shows..

... proper feel good stuff!

So my Blog Friends Forever, share with us this week some of the music which has charted your journey..here are a few suggestions, not set in stone you may have your own..

  • Nursery Rhymes , songs & childhood games
  • Teenage favourites.. teen heart throbs and broken hearts!
  • Songs which denote an era in your life
  • Love Songs,
  • Special moments .. happy or sad
  • Feelgood Music
... the possibilities are endless so go get your favourites head on and tell all.. K xx

I will add our linky pal below:

Let's reflect - April : End of the Vulnerable week.

Well it was a very difficult word, I give it to you, but it brought a really interesting week.

What came out of it is that some of us don't feel vulnerable and the ones like me who do at times, seem to have the right tools to go out of it by themselves.

So well done to everybody !

I am sure you will have a quieter time with Kathy tomorrow.

Thank you for taking part to this week challenge and see you again on May 13th.

Take care everybody, Anne xxx

Let's Reflect - April

Hello everybody,

something my computer does very well for me is to keep track of what I have to do ( thanks God for that as I currently really need it ), so since a week I get daily flashing lights : " Remember to prepare let's reflect ".

Good boy. Yes I decided my computer is a boy, so when I am upset I can say " Arrgghhh , Men . . .  "

So here we are in April and I think it's colder than it was in winter . . .
After our Laugh week in March, we now go back to something more serious, as our word is

vulnerable

Before you start hating me for good ( you wouldn't do that, would you ?), don't worry, I am not asking you to tell your sad stories, although you certainly can if you feel like. As always, we are going to concentrate on the positive side of things :

What do you do when you feel vulnerable, what do you eat, what do you say, how do you dress, whom do you talk to, what do you avoid doing, what do you do much more ?

Do you dress in bright colors, do you go clubbing, do you hibernate, do you go for long walks, do you cuddle your Teddy in your PJs all day, do you read a book, do you raid your local supermarket for chocolate, do you look at yourself in a mirror and do faces ?

We all have our own small things we do to try and feel better and I would like we share them with each other, as we never have too many ways of trying to feel better, do we ?

This week, we open a massive savings account ( at least one that won't go bust, LOL)  and we all deposit our little secret remedies. At the end of the week, we all will feel richer and more prepared to fight grey days, would they come.

This week might be more about writing and journaling than photos, but you keep on amazing me with the originality you bring into this challenge, so let's get surprised . . .

Take care everybody, Anne xxx

PS: I don't manage to get the thumbnail appearing, but you still can link here and by clicking on the name, it will send you automatically to the blog.

The View Challenge: April.

Happy Easter :)

So, it's that time again! It's your view photos we want to see this week.
As usual there is the main view challenge, the kitchen window challenge and your neighbourhood challenge. I will add the linky's as I add the prompts through the week.

I am using as the theme the lovely Sara Coleridge poem The Months and it goes a little something like this:

The Months
January brings the snow,
makes our feet and fingers glow.

February brings the rain,
thaws the frozen lake again.

March brings breezes loud and shrill,
stirs the dancing daffodil.

April brings the primrose sweet,
scatters daisies at our feet.

May brings flocks of pretty lambs,
skipping by their fleecy dams.

June brings tulips, lilies, roses,
fills the children's hand with posies.

Hot July brings cooling showers,
apricots and gillyflowers.

August brings the sheaves of corn,
then the harvest home is borne.

Warm September brings the fruit,
sportsmen then begin to shoot.

Fresh October brings the pheasants,
then to gather nuts is pleasant.

Dull November brings the blast,
then the leaves are whirling fast.

Chill December brings the sleet,
blazing fire, and christmas treat.

Sara Coleridge

There has been lots of snow across the country it even settled a big lump over the top of North Devon, so I hope Spring really is around the corner.
I will try and check in every day but I have a heavy workload schedule this week and of course the children are home too, oh and not to mention we are decorating the lounge!
Have a great week everyone :) I am not quite sure which day I will get out to take the main view challenge but I am betting next Sunday! Here is one of the snow.
